Re: HES GONE
Well if its true then its no surprise.

I will try to be balanced though and say he did the job asked of him for his first 3 seasons. Got us up, kept us up for a couple of seasons and improved the league position.

This season was his chance to show he could take us forward. He failed and hence has to go.

In summary, 1 season too far for Sam but thanks for the first 3 seasons as he did what was asked,

This is the objective assessment.

But I must admit it is a relief now. He has now become a toxic influence.

Re: HES GONE
Well they've got the easy part right by not renewing his contract. Now the difficult task of getting the right man in needs to take place.

Totally classless again from the owners to press the button as the final whistle goes. But at least its the end of an appalling period in the clubs history.

Good news, but when will they fucking learn? This is terrible PR and looks really bad. Didn't the Avram Grant fiasco tell then how bad this makes them look?

Can only imagine they want to bury the news behind Ashley and Hull.

I've had 5 wanks since this was announced.

Happiest I've been in years with regards football. Glad the club got in before Sam had a chance to too.

I can now look forward to next season. I've hated watching us under him, even in games under him that we've done well in have been tainted as it has worried me that the few good games might convince owners to keep him.

The future fills me with optimism!

He can't have any complaints. Our form in 2015 has been terrible and most managers would have lost their jobs with that kind of record. Finishing behind Palace again takes the piss.

Re: HES GONE
In a statement, Joint-Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold have paid tribute to Allardyce’s contributions and explained what they will be looking for in their new manager.

“We would like to start by thanking Sam Allardyce for his valuable work since arriving at the Boleyn Ground four years ago,” they said.

“He leaves the Club in a considerably better state then when he arrived and, for that, the Board are truly grateful.

“However, we have made the decision not to renew his contract, so we now have the chance to appoint a new manager with a new philosophy to lead us into two of the most exciting years in our great Club’s history.

“Our target is to recruit a manager that will build a team capable of saying a fitting farewell to the Boleyn Ground next year and do justice to the outstanding surrounds we will call home from August 2016.

“We have already been impressed with the quality of candidates that have expressed an interest in the role and fully expect to appoint a manager with the credentials to take this Club on to new heights.

“From our point of view there isn’t a more exciting job in the Premier League at present.”

BBC:

West Ham: Sam Allardyce to leave Hammers after four years

West Ham have announced manager Sam Allardyce is to leave the Hammers after four years at the Premier League club.

The 60-year-old oversaw the Hammers' promotion from the Championship in 2012 and subsequent top-flight survival.

But the former Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United boss was never universally popular with the east London side's supporters.

West Ham say they have a shortlist of possible replacements, and will make "significant transfer funds" available.

In a statement, joint chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold said: "We would like to start by thanking Sam Allardyce for his valuable work since arriving at the Boleyn Ground four years ago.

"He leaves the club in a considerably better state then when he arrived and, for that, the board are truly grateful."

The statement was released just minutes after West Ham lost their final Premier League game of the season 2-0 at Newcastle - a result which ensured their opponents avoided relegation and meant the Hammers finished 12th.

More to follow.

Re: HES GONE
Really graceless way of doing things which will gain him nothing but sympathy in the media. He must have properly given them the needle in some way for them to announce it like this.

It's tempting, if you don't like him, to take some satisfaction in them doing it this way, but it lacks class and will win no friends in the business.

Thank fuck this is over though.
